CURRICULUM
We offer a
multi-cultural curriculum, where different faiths are studied and main
Christian and other festivals are celebrated. Assemblies, on a daily
basis, address different themes.
Pupils are taught in
three classes of up to eight pupils, by a class teacher supported by at
least two teaching assistants. The classes are named after Surrey
rivers: Mole, Ash and Thames.

Thames Class's conservatory,
used for different activities.
Teachers plan
differentiated work, according to the pupils' needs and abilities.
Independent learning is a target for all pupils.
We implement the
National Curriculum and the Primary Strategy, (which includes the
Literacy and Numeracy Strategies).

The Fordway Centre is
supported by the MPT, (Multi-Professional Team), including the Learning
and Language Support team, Educational Psychology, Speech and Language
Therapy and Behaviour Support, plus the Child and Adolescent Mental
Health Service.
There is a separate room where these professionals can assess the
children, along with classroom observations.
These agencies advise staff on the needs of the pupils and this advice
is incorporated into the individual programmes of study for each pupil.
Visitors, such as the
School Nurse, Police Officers and Simon Shutt and his puppets (from
FACT) also speak to the children.
We also see clowns from 'Splats Circus Days', animals from 'ZooLab' and
an Aborigine Francis Firebrace.
The centre has
outside
grounds, including a field and appropriate play equipment, for outdoor
recreational and curriculum activities.

There is an interactive whiteboard in each classroom and in the
